Candidates going for these electronics related courses has to give one more test paper for CDAC entrance, cdac call it section C paper. But, if you take a look at CDAC entrance rules, one thing you will notice that the more importance is given to CDAC section A paper Rank. And scoring good marks in section A paper is not easy as compared to section B or section C papers.
In section A paper, you have to solve 50 questions in 60 minutes which includes quantitative aptitude questions, reasoning & logical questions along with questions based on English language skills which arranged in increasing order of difficulty. CDAC has mentioned GRE2016 book and Quantitative aptitude by R.S Aggarwal as reference book for Section A preparation.
But, we found the difficulty of problems to be little higher than GRE. So, we recommend Quantitative aptitude by R.S Aggarwal over the other. It is observed that majority CDAC aspirants fail to solve complete Section A paper in given time limit.
Lot of practice is needed to Solve whole CDAC section A paper in given time. Our CCAT mock test series will definitely help you to practice for this. Time is not problem for section B and section C papers. C programming tutorial from tutorialspoint.com is good for Section B preparation.
I had managed to solve 48 questions out of 50 questions of section B correctly by only referring to this tutorial pdf. They also offer functionality to test your program online.

CCAT is an easy exam to crack if planned properly. Your basic concepts should be very clear for Section B and you should repeatedly solve problems for Section A.
Section A:
First buy the book Quantative Aptitude by R S Aggarwal and prepare the following topics:
Numbers
HCF & LCM
Average
Ages
Percentage
Profit & Loss
Time & Work
Pipes & Cisterns
Time & Distance
Boats & Streams
Trains
Simple Interest
Compound Interest
Permutation & Combination
Probability
Once you prepare for these topics then solve the multiple choice questions on www.IndiaBix.com, also take the aptitude online tests they have provided, so that you can time and judge your solving speed. You can solve the logical reasoning problems in the specified sections on www.IndiaBix.com
SECTION B:
For this section I will strongly recommend going through their CCAT Syllabus section on their website and also look at the reference books.
The books and sources I referred:
C Programming - Exploring C By Yashavant Kanetkar(Go through the topics and solve the Exercises given after each topics, also check out the section ‘Find The Output’ on IndiaBix.com under C Programming).
Data Structures - Data Structures through C in depth By S.K.Srivastava(Go through the concepts and just try to understand the implementations). Look after the evaluation of postfix, infix and prefix, also preorder, inorder and postorder tree traversals.
Operating Systems - Operating System Principles (Silberschatz, Galvin, Gagne), they also ask many questions on UNIX Operating Systems, for UNIX I had referred online resources, just search for UNIX related topics on the internet.
OOPS Concepts - Search for the content of oops on the internet, some websites like Tutorialspoint have really good explanations. Then refer Test Your C ++ Skills By Yashavant Kanetkar.
Data Communication And Networking - I referred ecomputernotes.comand went through Youtube videos for IP addressing and subnets related problems.
Also solve the multiple choice questions for Operating Systems and OOPS on http://sanfoundary.com
Many CDAC institutes from Pune also offers Pre-DAC course which covers basics of C, C++ and objective questions asked in entrance exam. IACSD Branch of CDAC offering Pre-DAC course. It will be taken by one of the CDAC faculty of my time.
If you are good at C and C++ then practice and read Let US C and Solutionsbook by Yashwant Kanetkar which I used for preparation. Prepare objective questions from quantitative aptitude book (R. S. Agrawal). Go through patterns of papers from last few years (These you can search online. If lucky you will get some.) Hope this helps.
Prepare well for aptitude and English session, most of the people ignore this section and they suffer later when they can't make it to good center.
About technical stuff, go through sites like Indiabix.com, sanfoundry.com, freetests4u.com and many other to solve questions from C C++ Java OS. You can make it to DAC course in Pune headquarters with rank upto 200 though.

I've done dac and by grace of god have gotten acceptable rank under 300( in both sections A, A+B) in both of my attempts.
To analyze how I did this is to understand what all I did...
I went to their brochure page about ccat and read their guidelines about their exams and evaluation patterns. This helps in understanding the monster you face.
Each paper be it section A(aptitude), B(computer s/w) or C(computer h/w) has 50 questions each that you need to attempt in an hour for each of the exams.
That means for those opting section A+B, will give a 1hr exam of 50 aptitude questions via section A. Have an intermission of say, 15 mins then commence with the programming section B for another hour solving 50 assorted c/c++, OS related questions.
So this is your pattern. During exam your are expected to follow your work and not indulge in chitchat otherwise you could be expelled from the room for causing disorder. No electronic device is entertained. Switch them off and keep in bag, this unfortunately applies to also your simple or scientific calculators. So it is best to be prepared and promptly request spare sheet for calculations, ask invigilator, they are instructed to give you as many as you need.
It would also help if you try their mock test web application. It is a newer feature present on their website, meant to give candidates a little familiarity with the computer administered exam.
Now onto the most important part... Preparation.
For this exam consult the recommended study material they have mentioned in the exam syllabus. So in admission process webpage it is table 7b you need to refer to. It goes in the following manner...
Section A is aptitude
Subject portion... book recommendation
English grammar. Wren and Martin highschool composition
Aptitude. RS aggarwal reasoning, quantitative aptitude, M tyara, Barron's GRE
So on and so forth
Section B is programming
C. ANSI c by Kernighan and Richie 2ed, let us c
OS. Galvin, gagne, silberschatzs OS concepts
DSA. Data structure through c in depth by shrivastav
So on..
You get the idea... Pick at the entire booklist they recommended for you..
More importantly... SOLVE THE NUMERICAL AND THEORETICAL QUESTIONS AT THE CHAPTER END OF EACH BOOK.
I REPEAT... SOLVE QUESTIONS. DON'T SKIP THEM and get a GOOD RANK.
There is no more voodoo to this.
Hope this helped. All the best.

So you want to crack CDAC entrance exam with the preparationof less than one month. Don’t be surprised if I say you that cracking this paper is easy with proper planning and proper preparation according to that plan.
I am assuming that you are writing all the three sections. Section-A consists of Aptitude, Reasoning and English. Section-B has all programming and data networks related questions. Coming to Section-C , you will have to answer questions from microprocessors, digital concepts and computer architecture.
As the time left for exam is very less, I would suggest you to brush up the basics in programming and networks for paper-B and in microprocessors & digital design for paper-C. Coming to paper-A don’t just study or mug up formulas. Practice aptitude problems and Questions on English grammar, daily till exam for certain amount of time. Plenty of sources are available on internet, so make use of them.
In exam don’t be in hurry to answer all the questions. Be cool and think before answering any question as there is negative marking. Also there will be section wise cut-off hence I suggested you to give importance to all the papers at the beginning of this answer.
As I said earlier, cracking this exam is not that difficult as in other competitive exams. But getting a good score is very much important as that score will be deciding your CDAC centre. Getting a good centre will be helpful for you in getting good placement.
Wish you all the best.
